Christian Kosmas Mayer (Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden): “Chronopolitics of Form“

The Vienna-based artist Christian Kosmas Mayer will speak about his artistic practice based on in-depth historical research and contemporary studies. These serve Mayer as a critical reassessment of past and present by placing evolutionary and natural elements in a cultural-historical and scientific frame of reference. Central to his work are forms of anabiosis and related questions of archiving and preservation as historically conscious action.

Mayer’s works have been shown internationally in renowned museums and galleries, including the Museum of Modern Art Vienna, Belvedere Vienna, Kunstmuseum Bonn, Manifesta 7 and the 26th Sao Paulo Biennale.

Due to the Corona pandemic the presentation will take place via zoom. Please register for this event via e-mail: hartmann@soz.uni-frankfurt.de
