studied Sociology, Economics and Political Science at the University of Munich (LMU) and at Maastricht University. She is Professor of Sociology with a focus on economy and organization at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Goethe University Frankfurt. Her general research focus is the interface of technology and economy from a political economic perspective. Brandl’s research interests also include: theory of money and credit, Blockchain in the financial sector, division of labor between private and public research and bioeconomy (seed sector).
